About The Role And Team
Product Design at Uber is about more than just making things look good-it's about architecting how people and things move in the physical world. As a Senior Product Designer, you will turn massive complexity into clarity at speed, navigate competing priorities, and lead through influence, not control. This is a high-impact environment where you will solve what is hard to shape the future of movement.
This is a 0-to-1 environment where you must make big decisions without perfect information and own the outcomes. You'll need to navigate high-stakes ambiguity, balance near-term execution with long-term vision, and advocate for the user in a high-speed, technical landscape. If you think critically and are motivated by the challenge of real-world impact at a global scale, this is where you will grow.
What You'll Do
Lead human-centered experience design for high-impact domains, defining new interaction patterns and service models where none exist today. Own design problems end-to-end, from early-stage research and conceptual wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes and final production-ready assets. Partner as a key thought leader with Product, Engineering, and Operations to define requirements and shape the strategic roadmap, not just translate them into mocks. Design across digital and physical touchpoints, translating complex logistical and technical systems into clear, intuitive flows for mobile, web, and vehicle interfaces. Maintain and evolve Uber's design language by contributing to shared systems and foundational patterns that ensure consistency across global platforms. Prototype rapidly to test hypotheses and validate ideas early, using data and user research to iterate and raise the bar for quality and trustworthiness.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of professional product design experience, with a track record of shipping successful digital products for mobile and web. A portfolio showcasing high-quality design work, strong systems thinking, and a deep understanding of user-centered design principles. Proficiency with Figma and a range of prototyping tools to bring complex ideas to life. Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and lead design direction in fast-paced, evolving environments. Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale to technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in frontier or complex domains such as Autonomous Systems, AdTech, Fintech, or Enterprise/Operational tools. Experience designing across physical and digital touchpoints, including geospatial or location-aware systems. Proven ability to collaborate with user researchers and data scientists to drive experimentation and A/B testing. Advanced degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or a related field. Experience building and implementing components within a global, scalable design system.
Ready to Ride?
This isn't the kind of place where you follow a playbook - it's where you help write one. If you're driven by impact, energized by challenge, and ready to shape how the world moves - we'd love to hear from you.
