Job Description: Engineering Manager - Developer Velocity Platform Engineering Myntra s Engineering team builds the technology platform that empowers our customers shopping experience and enables the smooth flow of products from suppliers to our customers doorsteps. We work on building massive-scale web applications, engaging user interfaces, big-data analytics, mobile apps, workflow systems, inventory management, etc. You will have the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing organisation and gain exposure to all the parts of a comprehensive e-commerce platform. About The Team The Cloud Platform Engineering(CPE) group is responsible for developing and managing platforms that allow Myntra s tech products to be deployed and run at scale. The CPE team builds and maintains centralized and high-scale platforms for sophisticated application security frameworks, log collection, monitoring systems, access management, secret management, database access, change management systems, build, release and deployment. You will be part of the group. You will develop distributed solutions with service-oriented architecture to build high-performance platforms to service India's largest selection of millions of fashion customers. Furthermore, you will build Tier-1 services to handle millions of requests daily while maintaining response latencies in milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements (high operational standards). You will not merely go through the complete software development cycle but, more importantly, drive appropriate technology choices for the business, lead the way for continuous innovation, and shape the future of fashion e-commerce. The Role We are looking for an Engineering Manager who thinks like a product manager for developers. This is not a DevOps maintenance role. It is a hands-on engineering leadership role with a specific mandate: make every moment of the Myntra engineer's day faster, clearer, and less frustrating and build the AI-native developer platform that compounds that improvement for years. You will own the CI/CD systems, the Internal Developer Portal, the agentic support tooling, and the DORA programme. Everything that affects how an engineer writes, ships, and debugs code at Myntra is yours. Your customers are Myntra's engineers. You will measure success the way a product team does: developer NPS, self-serve adoption, ticket deflection, and deployment frequency not just uptime. Key Responsibilities Near-term: Fix and Accelerate Own the end-to-end Lead Time to Change improvement programme drive the Shuttle and Dockins overhaul including standardised Helm templates, reliable ConfigMap generation via Cosmos workflow, and accurate deployment status recording from Argo Drive canary rollout adoption across all services auto-promotion, auto-rollback, no service exempt Reduce platform support ticket volume through self-serve tooling, automation, and the CPE Bot Own the DORA Dashboard make Lead Time to Change, Change Failure Rate, Deploy Frequency, and Self-Serve Ratio visible and actionable for every engineering team Long-term: Build the future Lead the design and delivery of Myntra's Internal Developer Platform (IDP) a self-serve, golden-path developer experience that abstracts infrastructure complexity entirely Own the CI/CD pipeline overhaul move from a legacy multi-system pipeline to a modern, observable, AI-augmented delivery platform Build the CPE Bot a natural language interface for IAM, build failure diagnosis, deployment queries, and infrastructure questions; eliminate the highest-volume ticket categories permanently Drive AI-native development practices across Myntra engineering repo context enrichment, AI-assisted build failure analysis, autonomous PR agents, and VPC coding agents integrated into CI/CD Design the developer platform for GCP natively as part of the ongoing cloud migration not retrofitted after the fact Required Technical Expertise Developer experience and platform thinking Deep understanding of what makes a platform feel like a product you have built internal developer portals, golden paths, or self-serve frameworks that engineers choose to use, not just comply with Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems at scale you have designed, built, and operated pipelines, not just consumed them Strong working knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and modern deployment patterns canary, blue-green, progressive delivery Familiarity with DORA metrics as a feedback loop you have run programmes that measurably improved deployment frequency, Lead Time to Change, or Change Failure Rate at a prior organisation Experience with IDP frameworks Backstage, Port, or equivalent AI-native mindset You treat AI tooling as infrastructure, not a feature Cursor, Claude Code, and coding agents are part of how your team works today, not experiments you are evaluating You have built or integrated AI-assisted developer tooling automated build failure analysis, intelligent test generation, autonomous PR agents, or equivalent You understand agentic workflows and have clear opinions about where human judgment is irreplaceable and where automation should be the default You can design systems where agents handle routine work and engineers do architectural work this is your default operating model, not an aspiration Leadership and communication You have taken a reactive engineering team and made it proactive inherited a fire-fighting team and left it running a product roadmap You hold a high bar while building trust the teams you manage ship better work and grow faster You communicate with executives as fluently as with engineers you can translate a DORA metric into a business consequence You treat engineers as customers you run discovery, measure satisfaction, and build roadmaps from pain points, not engineering intuition alone Preferred Qualifications 11-15 years in software engineering with at least 3 years leading a developer productivity, developer experience, or platform engineering team Demonstrated track record of measurably improving Lead Time to Change, deploy frequency, or Change Failure Rate at a prior organisation Experience operating or building CI/CD systems at scale in a high-traffic e-commerce or consumer technology environment Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java for building platform components and automation tooling Familiarity with observability tooling Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent as a means to diagnose developer friction, not just system health Prior experience with Platform-as-a-Product operating models golden paths, self-serve portals, internal developer portals, or equivalent Experience designing for or migrating to GCP is a plus
