Title: - Sr II Electrical Engineer (THTT5)
Overview
The Senior Engineer II, Electronics Hardware Design is responsible for the design, implementation, validation, and sustainment of electronic hardware solutions across the NetBotz product portfolio, including environmental monitoring appliances, wired and wireless sensors, and related accessories.
This role works closely with Hardware Technical Leads, Firmware Engineers, PCB Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Compliance Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Product Management to develop reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective embedded hardware solutions.
The successful candidate will contribute to digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power electronics designs while supporting existing products and helping develop next-generation NetBotz platforms. The engineer is expected to remain hands-on throughout the product lifecycle, participating in schematic design, hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, manufacturing support, and product sustainment activities.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop embedded electronic hardware systems for NetBotz appliances, sensors, pods, and related products.Design digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power circuitry that meets performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability objectives.Develop and maintain schematics, design documentation, engineering analyses, and supporting technical materials.Design and implement Power over Ethernet (PoE) powered products and supporting power-management circuitry.Select and integrate microprocessors, microcontrollers, memory devices, sensors, communication interfaces, and supporting electronic components within CTO and supply chain guidelinesCollaborate with PCB designers to develop high-quality layouts and support design reviews focused on signal integrity, EMC, manufacturability, and reliability.Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of prototype and production hardware.Work closely with Firmware Engineering to support hardware-software integration and platform development.Support development activities involving ARM-based processors, STM microcontrollers, FPGA devices, System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms, and related technologies.Participate in technical reviews and provide design guidance to junior engineers and other team members.Investigate field issues, manufacturing issues, and customer-reported hardware problems and develop corrective actions.Support EMC, EMI, thermal, environmental, safety, and reliability testing activities.Participate in hardware refresh, cost-reduction, component substitution, and product sustainment initiatives.Support factory builds, pilot production runs, product transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities.Collaborate with Component Engineering regarding component availability, lifecycle risks, substitutions, and obsolescence planning.Experience in using cadence allegro tools like design authoring tool, allegro PCB design tool, simulation tools like LT spice and TI-TINATravel to manufacturing and supplier sites as required to support development and production activities.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.10+ years of experience designing electronic hardware products.Strong experience designing analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.Experience designing embedded hardware systems using ARM-based processors and microcontrollers.Experience working with STM32 microcontrollers or similar ARM Cortex-M platforms.Experience designing and troubleshooting Power over Ethernet (PoE) powered devices.Experience with power-management circuitry, voltage regulation, power sequencing, and related power electronics concepts.Experience reading & reviewing PCB layouts and working closely with PCB design engineers.Experience performing hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and failure analysis.Experience using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and protocol analyzers.Working knowledge of EMC/EMI design principles and mitigation techniques.Strong understanding of embedded hardware architectures including processors, microcontrollers, memory systems, communication interfaces, and peripheral devices.Experience supporting product development from concept through manufacturing release.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
