SAP ABAP Consultant

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive SAP Developer to join our Enterprise Business Systems team. This role requires deep, hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP development, along with a strong track record of leading global and offshore teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions and driving operational excellence through KPI- and SLA-based support models.

Success in this role also demands proficiency in running scrums, establishing, and governing standard work practices, and thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The candidate should be comfortable collaborating across time zones and geographies and working with cross-functional teams around the globe including US.

Key Responsibilities

Deploys code across Dev, QA and Production environments using central repositoriesDevelops/Maintains/Supports new and existing data flows from multiple source systems into BODSDevelops/Maintains/Supports business rules and process around data cleansing, consolidation, and validation, etc.Troubleshoots/debugs ETL and SQL query issues and provides solutionsDevelop ETL logic utilizing various features available in the Data Integrator component of BODS, including Audit Rules, Built-in Functions, Interactive Debugger, Transforms such as Query, Key Generation, Table Comparison, History Preserving and ValidationDevelop/Maintains/Supports RICEFs with ABAP and participate in different phases of projects as a technical expertise in SAP.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information technology or related field with 10+ years of strong hands-on experience and skillset on R(Report)I(Interface)C(Conversion)E(Enhancment)F(Forms)W(Workflow) objects development utilizing ABAP language in the core modules of SAP ECC or S/4 HANAExperience in developing interfaces using RFC, ABAP Proxy, ALE/IDOCs, EDI, BAPIs, user exit, Web Dynpro, web services, OData servicesABAP reporting experience includes ABAP OOP’s reports - Classical / ALV Interactive ReportsDevelopment of load programs via a custom ABAP program or various SAP tools such as LSMW, LTMC / Migration Cockpit, ALE, etc.Enhancements – User/Customer Exit, BADI, BTE and Enhancement FrameworkFunctional knowledge on modules like SD, MM, PP, QM, FI & CO will be plusStrong working knowledge of multiple extractors connecting SAP, Non-Sap systems & SAAS systems using BODS.Knowledge on technical design and implementation of lifecycle activities associated with the extract, transformation and loading (ETL) of database tables with automated utilities, ETL toolsCandidates must be willing & comfortable working in US Time zoneProficient in English as candidate will be working with global stakeholdersHands-on experience with SPAU and SPAD during SAP upgrades.Experience with CDS Views, AMDPs and OData services for S/4HANA.Proficient in SAP Web IDE, Eclipse IDE, and other relevant development tools.Support end-to-end transformation initiatives, including requirements gathering through go-live and run-phase supportCollaborate closely with global stakeholders (including US teams) and offshore partners for efficient deliveryComfortable collaborating across time zones and geographies including US.

Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of experience in Software QA, with strong enterprise systems exposureSAP ABAP and ABAP on HANA.ABAP Debugger tool, Performance Tuning, Run time analysis and SQL Trace.Classical, Interactive, ALV reports and ALV Grid Control.Effectively used and created various Data Dictionary (DDIC) objects.Modularization Techniques, Subroutines, Function Modules, BAPI and RFC.Dialog Programming, Transactions, Screen Painter, and Menu Painter.BDC (Batch Data Communication), interfaces and conversions, LTMC and LSMW.Enhancements, Routines, User Exits, BTE and BADI.Conversation in customizing reports with Smart Forms (Quotation, SO, PO, Invoice, Bill of Lading, GR, Credit memo, Cheque etc.)Apply OSS Notes, LSMW and ABAP Query.
