Project Manager

We are seeking a seasoned, process-driven Project Manager to lead the execution of strategic space programs. In this role, you will be responsible for navigating complex, high-reliability engineering lifecycles from contract award through to system qualification, manufacturing, and deployment. You will serve as the primary link between multidisciplinary engineering teams, quality assurance agencies, and institutional customers, ensuring all deliverables meet strict, required standards and tight schedule constraints.

Key ResponsibilitiesMilestone Execution & Phase Gates: Manage the end-to-end execution of projects and programs, driving teams systematically through formal design reviews (BDR, PDR, CDR, PSR, MRR).Contract & Scope Management: Analyze customer requirements, statements of work (SOW), and Technical Specifications to ensure absolute compliance and prevent scope creep.Earned Value Management (EVM): Track project health, budgets, and schedules using EVM methodologies, maintaining a comprehensive Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).Quality & Certification: Coordinate closely with customer, external certification agencies if needed and inspection agencies to secure product qualification and necessary certifications.Sub-Contractor & Vendor Governance: Manage complex tiers of aerospace sub-vendors, establishing statement of works, tracking lead-times, and ensuring strict quality incoming inspection protocols.Risk & Security Management: Implement robust risk-mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, long-lead items, and adhere to strict information security and IP protection guidelines.

Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electronics, Mechanical, or Production Engineering.Experience: 5 to 10 years of project/program management experience specifically within the Aerospace & Defence sector, handling military hardware, avionics, or defense systems.Standards & Frameworks: Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 Rev D quality management systems and aerospace and defence lifecycle processes.Scheduling Software: Expert-level mastery of MS Project or Primavera P6 for handling resource-loaded, complex dependencies.Financial Acumen: Direct experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking.Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of briefing leadership, scientists, and corporate executives with technical clarity.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) AttributesActive PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.Prior engineering experience in a Aerospace can defence R&D laboratory or a major Tier-1 aerospace or defence manufacturing company.Understanding of procurement procedures, government tendering, and offset management workflows.
