Market Assessment & Competitive Analysis

Build comprehensive market assessments that bring together vertical segmentation, competitive analysis, channel maps and customer needs. Analyze key vertical or sub-vertical markets to determine total addressable size and growth rates to assess attractiveness

Conduct primary and secondary market research to arrive at conclusions and utilize wide range of VOC tactics (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc…). You will partner with marketing and other functions to create a comprehensive market view.

Clearly articulate how global and regional customer needs are similar and/or different. Ensure growth strategies leverage global capabilities while ensuring we meet local customer/market requirements to remain competitive. Communicate findings to key stakeholders to ensure alignment.

Monitor and assess competitive products and programs and as a result develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen the product line’s competitive edge.

Work with product managers globally to define value proposition by product line and execute competitive comparison analysis

New Product Introduction (NPI) Roadmap

Define 3 year regional product roadmap based on VOC insights and market trend. Align with global roadmaps as well as define regional variants that are required to properly serve the market

Develop clear product requirements and business cases for new products

Launch new products and co-develop marketing campaigns, channel programs, sales plans, manufacturing strategy, and pricing to ensure KPIs are achieved

Participate on cross-functional new product introduction teams.  Lead all marketing aspects associated with the product definition, product development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools, and promotion plans.

Portfolio Management

Actively manage entire product lifecycle for offering in region. Lead new product introductions, rationalization and localization. Partner with marketing to develop best in class tools to drive the selling process and support the customer buying journey.

Partner with regional and global cross functional teams to appropriately resource and achieve KPIs (e.g. new product revenue, margins) and critical milestones (launch dates, tollgates).

Lead product management function for [region] and champion cross-functional activities to maximize overall product line performance including revenue growth, margin improvement, cost reduction, quality and delivery. Partner with leadership to define short and long term KPIs and create clear growth initiatives to achieve them.

Develop strong and quantified value propositions for product families in order to clearly articulate differentiation to customers, channel partners and sales. Partner with Marketing and Marcomm on content delivery and tools.

Define product line forecasts to assist in SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning) process. Partner with operations and supply to define capacity requirements both short and long term.

Define market based pricing strategy for region based on competitive benchmarks and develop pricing process tailored to region.

Support Growth Initiatives

Partner with global marketing and pricing teams on digital tools (web, CPQ) and implementation.

Work closely with Marketing and Channel Sales teams to define strategies to penetrate existing channels or grow in new channels (distribution, e-commerce, direct, etc...). Go to market strategies may differ by vertical or region.

You have:

Academic background

Bachelor’s degree required. Engineering or Business highly preferred.

MBA is preferred

Previous experience in or with

10+ years of industrial marketing, product management and/or sales experience. Industrial automation or electrical experience preferred

Hands on experience working with industrial distribution channels

Working in global and matrix organizations

Skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills, including strong active listening skills.

Demonstrated skills to analyze, interpret and draw meaningful and accurate conclusions from data.

Proven ability to conduct Voice of the Customer and define customer needs
