Principal Engineer – Structural Analysis
Overview:
In this role the Principal Engineer (Stress), will support engineering activities related to structural analysis for Nacelle products
What You Will Do:
Lead and perform structural analysis of Aircraft nacelle components and assemblies with creating significant impact on organizational objectives. Perform advanced structural analyses for aircraft components and systems using analytical and finite element methods. Structural analysis includes Developing interface loads, Static analysis, Fatigue analysis, Damage-Tolerance analysis, Vibration analysis and Crack growth analysis with NASGRO. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation to support design decisions and certification activities. Support and conduct design reviews (CDR and PDR), technical discussions, and engineering presentations. Responsible for schedule and cost for the project assigned. Responsible for engineering metrics like OTD, FPY, MFA, etc. Perform Team competency assessment and gap closure. Guide and mentor team members to achieve project objectives. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing existing processes, tools, and systemsWorking with Cross functional team and communicating with business units in USA (effective written and verbal communication is required for the purpose of achieving successful job performance). Collaborate closely with global engineering teams and provide technical guidance to the team. Willingness to work in extremely aggressive schedules, while still not neglecting the value of attention to details and subsequently delivering high-quality work to the customers.
What You Will Learn
This role will support your continued technical and professional developmentQualifications You Must Have Bachelor's/ master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Civil Engineering 12+ years of relevant experience. In-depth Knowledge composite & metallic materials and analysis. Good decision-making capabilities to address problem statements on time. Experience with FEM tools, including Nastran, Patran, HyperMesh, and hand calculations Analysis of Aerospace structural components using FEM and classical approach. Experience supporting aerospace product development throughout the engineering lifecycleProficient in the fundamentals of solid Mechanics and Machine Design. Knowledge of Aircraft structural design, materials, and manufacturing processes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft office – Word, Excel and Presentation. Strong ownership, customer focus, and commitment to delivering quality engineering solutions. Experience in productivity tool development using Excel VBA, Python etc. will be added advantage. Knowledge of aerospace product compliance, qualification, and certification (FAA/EASA). Nacelle experience and understanding of AMM/CMM/SRM is an added advantage. Repair and concession experience will be an added advantage.
