Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and continuously improve software engineering and software development processes to enhance quality, efficiency, and predictability. Drive adoption and compliance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes, project management methodologies, and organizational best practices across projects. Partner with software development teams throughout the project lifecycle, providing guidance on process adherence, risk management, and quality requirements. Conduct comprehensive process audits across software development projects and engineering support functions to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities. Lead and coordinate ISO 9001, TL 9000, and CMMI internal audits, external audits, and appraisal activities, ensuring organizational readiness and successful outcomes. Analyze large volumes of project, quality, and operational data to identify trends, risks, root causes, and opportunities for process optimization. Develop meaningful insights, metrics dashboards, and actionable recommendations to improve engineering effectiveness, product quality, and delivery performance. Prepare executive-level reports and presentations, presenting quality performance, audit findings, process maturity assessments, and improvement plans to engineering and delivery leadership. Define, monitor, and drive awareness of key quality, engineering, and operational metrics at project, business unit, and organizational levels. Facilitate management reviews and improvement initiatives to address process gaps and strengthen organizational capability. Drive corrective and preventive action programs and track closure of audit observations, non-conformities, and process improvement actions. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and quality-driven delivery across the organization. Develop and deliver training programs, workshops, and awareness sessions on quality processes, SDLC practices, compliance requirements, and industry standards. Mentor project teams and stakeholders on process excellence frameworks, quality management principles, and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes, improve governance mechanisms, and enhance overall organizational maturity.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile, Waterfall, and software engineering practices. Expertise in software quality management, process improvement, and organizational governance. Hands-on experience with ISO 9001, TL 9000, and CMMI frameworks and assessments. Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from large datasets. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Experience in metrics definition, reporting, dashboarding, and performance analysis. Ability to drive organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong facilitation, coaching, and training capabilities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in Quality Assurance, Process Excellence, Engineering Governance, PMO, or Software Quality Management. Experience working with software product development, telecommunications, IT services, or engineering organizations. Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies would be an added advantage
