What You'll Do

Lead an engineering team of seven to eight, covering both development and automation/QE rolesOwn backlog refinement for your team, and gatekeep Definition of Ready so work starts with enough clarity to finishOwn mentoring, onboarding and career development across the teamLead recruitment for your own team — you will be hired ahead of your reports and will run their interview panelsParticipate in code review; you are expected to read your team’s code, not to deliver features in itPartner with your Staff Software Engineer, who holds technical direction and design authorityReport delivery and quality status, and manage scope change with product managementBuild a new team from nothing — set working practices, not just fill seats

What You'll Bring

3+ years managing software engineering teams, plus a prior engineering backgroundReading fluency in your team’s primary languages — Java and Shell for Trust & Platform; Java, TypeScript and Robot Framework for Experience & DataTrack record of hiring and onboarding engineers, including running technical interview panelsExperience owning backlog refinement and Definition of Ready for a delivery teamComfort partnering with a senior individual contributor who holds technical authorityExperience growing intermediate engineers into senior onesDemonstrated use of Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-assisted development lifecycle (AI-DLC) practices, or a directly equivalent methodologyExperience standing up a new team or site is beneficial
