Role Description The Legal Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to BrightCHAMPS’ operations. This role includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and legal documents, including vendor agreements, employment contracts, partnership agreements, and compliance-related documentation. The Legal Manager will advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, support decision-making for business initiatives, and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations in multiple jurisdictions. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve managing legal affairs related to corporate governance, intellectual property, data protection, and regulatory filings, as well as coordinating with external legal counsel when required. The person in this role will collaborate closely with leadership, finance, HR, and operational teams to support the company’s growth while maintaining strong legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Law, with experience interpreting and applying relevant statutes and regulations in corporate and commercial contexts.Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, policies, and other formal legal instruments.Experience in Legal Consulting, providing clear, practical advice to cross-functional teams and leadership on legal risks and strategic initiatives.Demonstrated expertise in Legal Compliance, including regulatory adherence, data privacy, labor laws, and cross-border operational requirements.Hands-on experience managing Legal Affairs such as corporate governance, dispute resolution, intellectual property, and external counsel coordination.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LL.B/LL.M) from an accredited institution; active bar membership or equivalent professional qualification preferred.Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance risk management and business objectives.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.Prior experience in an edtech, technology, or high-growth startup
