Hikal is also the first Indian life-sciences company to receive Responsible Care® certification, underscoring its commitment to sustainable and responsible operations. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Instrumentation / Automation Engineer role based at Hikal’s Bengaluru (Jigani) facility. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining instrumentation and automation systems to support safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include configuring and optimizing process control systems, monitoring equipment performance, and responding to system alarms and breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime. The engineer will perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of instrumentation, automation, and electrical issues, coordinating with production, maintenance, and safety teams. The role also includes participating in system upgrades, calibration activities, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to align with regulatory and internal quality standards. QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Automation and Robotics for industrial and process environments.Candidates should possess solid Process Control skills, including configuration, optimization, and monitoring of control systems.Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills relevant to instrumentation, control panels, and power distribution in manufacturing plants.Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting skills for instrumentation, automation systems, and related electrical components.Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.Experience in automation and control within chemical, pharmaceutical, or life-sciences manufacturing is preferred.Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, SCADA, field instruments, and industrial communication protocols.Understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for plant operations.Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
