About The Position

The Security Analyst II position on the Security Operations team leads triage of security alerts, optimizes log ingestion pipelines, and provides general security guidance across the organization. This role is required to work different shifts on a rotational basis, operating with a high degree of independence and contributing to projects that improve security posture.

Key Responsibilities

Independently monitor and triage security alerts, escalating as appropriateIdentify and implement improvements to reduce alert noiseAssist with configuring security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, and IDSProvide security consulting and guidance to internal stakeholdersStay current on emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends

Essential Skills And Experience

5+ years of experience in security operations or engineeringStrong knowledge of security operations, tools, and cloud environmentsExperience managing security projects and implementing technical solutionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills across diverse security topicsExperience with scripting and automation for security use casesIn-depth understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experienceExperience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructuresFamiliarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, CMMC)

This position entails strict adherence to all applicable privacy and security standards and regulations. Responsibilities include the protection of information, upholding confidentiality, and conducting all activities in alignment with Mimecast’s policies. Completion of relevant role-based security and privacy training is a requisite for this role.
