PhonePe is India’s leading digital payments platform with over 700 million registered users and 50 million registered merchants. Using PhonePe, users can send and receive money, recharge mobile, DTH, data cards, pay at stores, make utility payments, buy gold, and make investments. PhonePe went live for customers in August 2016 and was the first non-banking UPI app and offered money transfer to individuals and merchants, recharges and bill payments to begin with. PhonePe is one of the leading payments providers for merchants in India. PhonePe provides digital payments for offline merchants as well as online merchants.

Job Description

PhonePe is on a mission to change the landscape of digital payments and financial services in India. As a Director of Product at PhonePe, you will own and drive the roadmap for our payment solutions products for international merchants. You will work with other pod members and a diverse set of stakeholders towards a collective set of objectives. We work on complex technology, scale while iterating quickly and have a bias for impact in everything we do.

Leading our International Payment Solutions product portfolio, you will be working with leaders in the merchant business unit to determine the portfolio product strategy. You will be responsible for evangelizing and aligning all the cross-functional stakeholders on the strategy and plans and work on the execution and delivery to realize the identified opportunity and impact.

Qualifications

Define a portfolio product strategy from first principles that becomes the org’s reference point; drives multi-pod execution and measurable portfolio outcomesIdentify and delivers multiple Annual Operating Plan-shaping bets; consistently makes correct profitability vs growth calls across portfolio, shifts business trajectory with durable levers (pricing, distribution, unit economics, cost-to-serve)Design pod-level org structure and capability plan that materially increases throughput and quality; shapes cross-functional Hiring AOP with high accuracy; prevents bottlenecks before they form. Build a strong leadership bench; direct reports consistently progress levels. Establishes pod-wide talent mechanisms with counterparts that raise performance across functions. Design and evolve the pod operating system (planning, decision forums, execution reviews, launch readiness, learning loops) with measurable improvements in reliability and speed. Demonstrate thought leadership and be the go to person for product decisions for internal and external stakeholders. Engage with external customers and stakeholders, communicate objectives and progress.

What we look for:

Excellent communication skills. At least 15+ years of experience in Product / Platform building and development. Strong business acumen and ability to partner with cross-functional teams.
