About the Role

Role Summary

We are seeking a strong Frontend Software Engineer to build and evolve high-quality, high-performance web experiences using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.

This role goes beyond traditional frontend development. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of web performance, Core Web Vitals, browser fundamentals, rendering strategies, caching, networking, APIs, and the end-to-end web request lifecycle.

The candidate will be expected to think from first principles, make sound engineering trade-offs, build scalable and reusable frontend foundations, and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

Build and evolve web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript, with strong engineering foundations.Own and continuously improve web performance, with a deep understanding of Core Web Vitals including LCP, INP, CLS, and TTFB.Work with modern rendering strategies including SSR, SSG, CSR, hydration, caching, and resource loading.Use browser profiling, Lighthouse, RUM, observability, and profiling tools to identify bottlenecks and improve real-user performance.Understand and optimise the complete web journey from CDN and caching through server rendering, APIs, browser execution, and the final user experience.Build reusable frontend foundations, patterns, and components that can scale across products and teams.Make thoughtful engineering decisions by evaluating performance, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and cost.Challenge assumptions, unnecessary dependencies, excessive JavaScript, expensive rendering, and complexity that does not add value.Partner closely with Backend, Infrastructure, Design, and Product teams to solve problems end-to-end.Take a product-oriented approach by understanding how the complete experience works, performs, and feels to the user.Move with pace by building, shipping, measuring, learning, and continuously improving.Effectively leverage AI for coding, debugging, profiling, testing, exploration, and understanding unfamiliar systems, while maintaining ownership of engineering decisions.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

3–5 years of software engineering experience with strong frontend and web fundamentals.Strong hands-on expertise in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.Deep understanding of browser fundamentals, rendering, networking, caching, and web performance.Strong understanding of Core Web Vitals with practical experience diagnosing and improving web performance.Hands-on experience with SSR, SSG, CSR, hydration, and modern Next.js rendering and caching patterns.Ability to understand when to use different rendering approaches based on the problem and product requirements.Comfortable using RUM, profiling, observability, and performance-debugging tools.Understanding of the infrastructure behind modern web applications, including CDNs, cloud, caching, deployments, APIs, and edge/server-side execution.Ability to reason about performance, scalability, maintainability, reliability, and cost, beyond UI implementation.

Strong expertise in React.js and Next.js.Advanced understanding of TypeScript and modern JavaScript.Experience with Core Web Vitals — LCP, INP, CLS, and TTFB.Experience with SSR, SSG, CSR, hydration, and modern Next.js rendering patterns.Experience with Lighthouse, Real User Monitoring (RUM), browser profiling, and performance-debugging tools.Strong understanding of web caching, CDN architecture, resource loading, and networking.Exposure to cloud platforms, deployments, APIs, and edge/server-side execution.Experience building reusable frontend architectures and foundations across multiple products or teams.Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering and development tools.
