Electrical HV & Grid Connection Design Expert

To act as Electrical HV & Grid Connection Design Expert in renewable projects (Wind, Solar PV and BESS) development including preparation of in-house Basic design Engineering package, review & validation of external design documents in coordination with Technology experts of CTS department providing complete Basic design deliverables and technical support in all Renewable projects. Fully focused on optimizing the overall project cost, while ensuring quality and long-term reliability of the assets.Remark: Any description included hereunder is subject to any superior decision to change at any moment and require flexibility

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:High Voltage Design & Grid Connection Deliverables: Produce comprehensive deliverables for high voltage design and grid connections, including electrical drawings, design calculations, bills of quantities, and compliance documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards.

Feasibility Study & Design Guidance: Assess feasibility studies & site conditions to determine optimal designs and BOMs, and guide EPC contractors on design configurations based on Owner’s Technical Specifications (OTS) and RFP requirements.

Basic Engineering & FEED Package: Contribute to the preparation of Basic Engineering and FEED documents in coordination with the Renewable CTS Team's technology experts.

Design Validation: Validate and approve outsourced Basic Design and FEED packages from EPCs or external firms, ensuring compliance with project specs and quality standards.

Technical Reviews & Handover: Update project reviews before bidding, ensuring design stability and smooth handover to EPC contractors and Asset Management.

EPC Design Guidance: Provide guidance to EPCs on optimized design based on Owner’s Technical Specifications (OTS) and RFP requirements.

Project Execution Support: Lead basic engineering packages for tasks outside EPC scope or plant modifications, address key issues, and develop detailed design capabilities under the EPCM strategy if needed.

Bid & Investment Support: Update technical reviews for bids, ensure design stability through KT to EPC and Asset Management, and assist in preparing technical summaries for Investment Committee during the final development phase.

Document Management: Oversee registration, storage, tracking, and version control of documents, and train users on intranet features for uploading and locating information.

Policies & Procedures: Implement departmental policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to maintain standards and service levels for customers and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Manage and motivate the team to drive and implement change initiatives and projects according to organizational standards.

Ad hoc support to the management: Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:Internal:To deliver Business Development requirements and Strategic sourcing/procurement teams with the needed technical support.Working closely within the Engineering office expert team to prepare the basic design package consistently aligned with the internal technical services technology team.External:Needs to build a rapport with EPC Contractors, Engineering firms, Vendors, external consultants, technical experts, and solution providers, etc. on new ways to optimize the project design and equipment specs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum Qualifications:.Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with specialization in Power Systems from a reputed university..Master’s in electrical domain with specialization in Power systems, Renewables is preferred.

Desired Experience:.10 to 12 years of relevant experience in the Power and Utilities sector.

COMPETENCIES:Proficiency in technical tools & Software such as:o ETAP, PSSEo AutoCAD, DIgSILENTo PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink. Expertise in technical skills such as:o High Voltage System Design and Analysiso Substation and Transmission Equipment Specificationso Electrical Schematic and Diagram Creationo HV Substation Design and Sizing Calculationso Compliance with Grid Codes and Regulatory Standardso Protection and Insulation Coordination Studieso Earthing, Short-Circuit and Load Flow studies

LEVEL: High proficiency with hands on experience to manage independently.
