Position Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Manager Mainframe Delivery to lead large-scale mainframe programs, drive delivery excellence, and manage high-performing teams.

This is a purely managerial role with no hands-on development responsibilities, requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic oversight.

The ideal candidate will have deep familiarity with mainframe environments (DB2, COBOL, JCL, IMS, CICS, VSAM, Scheduler) and a proven track record in managing complex delivery portfolios, driving efficiencies, and enabling modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of multiple mainframe programs/projects

- Lead, mentor, and scale large teams of engineers, leads, and managers

- Serve as the primary interface for senior stakeholders and clients

- Drive governance across planning, execution, risk management, and reporting

- Ensure adherence to SLAs, quality benchmarks, and compliance standards

- Identify and implement cost optimization and automation opportunities

- Oversee modernization and transformation initiatives across mainframe systems

- Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, resource planning, and strategic roadmaps

- Drive adoption of new technologies and AI-led efficiencies at a strategic level

- Continuously improve delivery processes, productivity, and team performance

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 1618 years of experience with strong exposure to mainframe technologies (DB2, COBOL, JCL, IMS, CICS, VSAM, Scheduler)

- Proven track record in delivery leadership / program management roles

- Strong understanding of mainframe ecosystems (non-coding role)

- Demonstrated experience managing large teams and complex programs

- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills

- Strong business acumen with focus on cost efficiency and operational excellence

- Expertise in delivery governance, risk mitigation, and escalation management

- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills

Good to Have :

- Experience with Agile / Waterfall / Hybrid delivery models

- Exposure to automation, AI adoption, or digital transformation programs

- Domain experience in insurance or financial services

- Certifications in Program / Project Management (PMP, Prince2, etc.)
