Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and business-oriented in-house Counsel to serve as a strategic partner to our growing India IT office, which supports enterprise-wide initiatives, as well as the opportunity to engage with other legal interests of the Tyson Foods enterprise in the market and region. This role will partner closely with regional and global stakeholders to provide comprehensive legal support across commercial transactions, human resources, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in commercial contracting (including SaaS and IT agreements), employment and labor law, and regulatory risk management, while operating effectively in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Transactional & Commercial SupportDraft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including vendor, procurement, and lease contractsSupport IT-related transactions, including SaaS and technology agreements, in collaboration with global contracts and legal teamsProvide practical, risk-based legal advice to business stakeholders on commercial arrangements and coordinate closely with US-based stakeholders to ensure strict alignment with enterprise expectations on integrated solutions Human Resources & Employment LawDraft and review employment agreements, HR policies, and vendor contracts relating to recruitment and benefitsAdvise on labor law compliance and HR programs (e.g., pay transparency, incentive plans, and benefits structures)Manage legal aspects of employee lifecycle events, including retrenchment, terminations, disciplinary actions, and clawbacksRespond to legal notices, labor disputes, and employment-related claimsProvide legal oversight to ensure fairness and defensibility in performance management and disciplinary processes Regulatory Change ManagementMonitor evolving regulatory and political developments impacting business operations in IndiaAdvise on implementation of new laws and regulations, ensuring timely compliancePartner with cross-functional teams to embed regulatory requirements into business processes Corporate Governance & Entity ManagementSupport corporate governance matters, including board processes, resolutions, and statutory complianceOversee entity management, filings, and maintenance of corporate recordsEnsure adherence to internal governance policies and local legal requirements Dispute Management & External CoordinationCoordinate with external counsel on disputes, regulatory matters, and specialized legal issuesSupport dispute resolution strategies, including litigation and alternative dispute mechanismsAct as a key in-office legal resource, collaborating with the Asia Head of Legal and U.S.-based subject matter experts

Education:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institutionQualified Company Secretary (CS) preferred

Work Experience:

Minimum 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally in-house or with a top-tier law firm supporting multinational clientsStrong expertise in:Commercial contracting (including SaaS/technology agreements)Corporate governance and entity managementLabor and employment law in IndiaRegulatory compliance and risk mitigation
