Make it fun. Know it matters. Senior Data Developers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and solutions to support strategic analytics and reporting. This includes working with cloud-based data platforms, implementing best practices in data engineering, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high impact data products.

What You’ll Be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models.Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT processes using tools such as SSIS, Informatica, and Databricks with PySpark and Python.Build and manage data pipelines and workflows in Azure Data Factory and Databricks.Develop and deploy reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI.Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Provide strategic guidance on data architecture, data modeling, and best practices for scalable data solutions.Ensure data security, compliance, and governance standards are integrated into data pipelines and platforms, especially given the sensitivity of reinsurance data.Write clear documentation and communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Support the implementation of cloud data platforms, ensuring security, compliance, and performance standards are met.Work within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews.Stay updated with the latest trends in data engineering, cloud technologies, and analytics to continuously improve data practices.

Required Skills And Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, business management, or a related field required.Relevant years of hands-on experience in data engineering, including SQL, Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, and ETL/ELT development.Proven expertise in ETL/ELT processes using SSIS, Informatica, and Databricks (PySpark, Python).Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL.Robust, demonstrated expertise in Power BI, including designing interactive dashboards, KPI reports, advanced DAX calculations, AI features, and custom visualizations for actionable insights and self-service analytics.Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization, including designing interactive dashboards, KPI reports, and advanced analytics features like DAX calculations, AI integrations, and custom visualizations.Robust scripting skills in Python and PySpark.Knowledge of modern data storage technologies like Blob Storage, Parquet, and Avro is a plus.Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Desired Skills And Abilities

Certifications in Azure Data Engineering, Azure Solutions Architect, or ETL tools are a plus.Excellent problem-solving, adaptability, and communication skills; capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.Passionate about leveraging Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making and advanced analytics.
