As Data Governance Lead, you will strengthen how enterprise data is governed, trusted and reused. You will partner with stakeholders to define practical requirements for automated data and AI governance, so platforms, solutions and data products stay secure, compliant and trusted within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. Your work will help teams turn data and AI into real progress for people living with serious chronic diseases.
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Lead who can improve business processes through the practical use of data and AI, and deliver trusted data for enterprise solutions. You will bring:
At least 10 years of experience in data governance, data management or a related field.Deep knowledge of data governance principles, practices and frameworks, with experience building enterprise-wide governance programmes.Experience developing governance guidelines, standards and policies in life sciences or pharmaceuticals, aligned with regulatory requirements.A strong understanding of data quality, metadata management and data lineage across governance frameworks and data platforms.The ability to collaborate across functions, explain complex topics clearly and build alignment with senior stakeholders.Experience governing enterprise-scale data products and applying modern data practices such as FAIR data, DCAM, ALCOA+ or pharmaceutical data standards.Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills in a matrix organisation.A master’s degree in data science, computer science, information management or a related field.
What You’ll Do
You will set the direction for enterprise data governance and turn it into practical, measurable practice. You will:
Define and maintain clear data governance guidelines, standards and policies covering data quality, integrity, privacy, ethics and compliance.Design and implement governance frameworks for data access, controls, metadata, lineage and quality, and define requirements for scalable data governance agents that enforce and measure them.Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to align governance with business priorities, industry standards and regulatory requirements, and embed governance and data quality into target processes.Assess governance effectiveness, identify gaps and drive practical improvements across systems, processes and data products.Track, benchmark and report data quality measures, business impact and improvement targets.Act as subject matter expert—advising stakeholders, supporting training, helping teams adopt DCAM and strengthening data stewardship and accountability.Monitor relevant privacy, ethics and compliance requirements and embed them in day-to-day governance practice.

You will join the Data and AI Foundation and lead the Data Engineering Enablement team within Novo Nordisk Enterprise IT. The team brings together AI, data and software engineers, business analysts, data architects and AI specialists—combining expertise to deliver trusted technology and responsible ways of working across the value chain.
Your closest partners will be business leaders, data stewards and cross-functional teams who rely on governed, high-quality data. You will create clarity on priorities and standards, help teams move at pace, and build the alignment that keeps platforms, solutions and data products secure and compliant.
