What’s The Role

This role will support Lubricants Americas in delivering its growth ambitions. Lubricants Americas falls under the Shell Global Lubricants umbrella -- A business advancing towards an accelerated growth commitment by 2026 with a 10% CAGR.

As part of the Lubricants Americas Supply Chain Optimization and Projects organization, this team will drive world class Sales and Operations Planning for North and South America lubricant supply chain network across multiple sales channels (B2B, B2C, Indirect, Retail, GKAs, etc.). The broad product portfolio includes fast-moving consumer goods, products exclusively developed for key customers, and specialty products with niche applications.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Benchmarking Excellence Specialist within the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the performances of plant production and supply chain processes remain competitive internally and externally. Through qualitative and quantitative data, you will identify and lead value creation opportunities. This will have to be done while ensuring Lubricants drives towards best in class. You’ll thrive by working closely with global excellence teams, regional production sites, and external resources to meet evolving customer and business needs.

More specifically, your role will include:

Collaborate with global process quality community, global planning excellence community, and lubricant blending and packaging production site leadership to understand gaps in becoming top quartile supply chain.Collect and analyze internal and external qualitative and quantitative information and data to assess the effectiveness of production within North America and the effectiveness of the supply chain processes which include planning systems.Benchmark Lubricants Americas E2E performance and develop actionable insightsLead and develop a consistent pipeline of value creation projects incorporating the results of the benchmarking study.Utilize project management tools and techniques while driving accountability in project delivery.

What We Need From You

The right candidate is a curious learner who is collaborative, analytical, and has a track record of idea generation and execution. You will work with many stakeholders (globally, regionally, and within individual production sites). You will work with qualitative and quantitative data both internally and externally to provide benchmarking analysis on production performance and process system effectiveness. You will be responsible for developing and executing on the key value creation opportunities as identified in the benchmarking exercise.

When it comes to implementation, it’s your excellent people skills that will make the difference. You will inspire people to make changes that will have a direct impact on our commercial success.

Additional qualities and experiences that would be beneficial:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, or a related fieldWith at least 6 – 10 years of experience in supply chain optimization, strategy consultingKnowledge of manufacturing and operations (e.g. consumer goods, bottling, automobile) as well as demand and supply planning systems and processes would be valuable to the positionComfortable with data analysis (internal and external data)Excellent communication skills, ability to build a shared vision and an ability to influence other people at all levels within the organizationStrong stakeholder management skillsAbility to identify and respond quickly to changing priorities and multi-task

The role will be based out of Bangalore, India to support the lubricants business in the North America. The working hours will be partial US hours (Houston) with some flexibility.
