Job Description

Group Lead, Data Quality & Data Stewardship

Location: Bangalore, India

About the Position

The Global Enterprise Data Management Team is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manager, Data Quality & Data Stewardship to make a difference at Kraft Heinz. This role leads both our Data Quality (DQ) and Data Stewardship functions within India, including direct management of the stewardship team.

You will own our foundational data strategy, drive AI readiness across both functions, and partner with stakeholders to deliver measurable data improvement.

This is a high-visibility role for a strong people manager who is equally comfortable driving strategic roadmaps and getting into the data with SQL.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented leader who combines deep expertise in data quality and stewardship with strong people management and a genuine passion for AI-enabled ways of working. This role requires someone equally comfortable managing a distributed team in India, partnering with senior business stakeholders, and rolling up their sleeves with SQL, Collibra and PowerBI. True ownership, clear communication, and a drive to fix foundational data problems are the keys to success in this position.

Responsibilities:

Strategy & Roadmap

Help drive the enterprise Data Quality & Data Stewardship strategy and multi-year roadmap tied to business outcomes (order-to-cash, supply chain, finance, customer/product master)

Lead strategic, foundational data improvement projects — identifying systemic gaps, prioritizing by business impact, and driving root cause fixes with system/process owners

Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align priorities, drive adoption, and deliver outcomes

AI Readiness & Ways of Working

Drive the implementation of AI readiness strategy for both functions in India: stewardship team builds semantic context and data definitions that make our data AI-consumable; DQ team develops trust cards that surface data quality signals for AI consumption

Map how both teams can leverage AI in day-to-day workflows and lead the change management required to optimize ways of working with AI

Ensure both teams fully understand and own their role in AI readiness; drive adoption through clear accountability and ongoing change management

Team & Operations

Directly manage the India stewardship team — goals, skills, operating norms, and accountability

Run the DQ operating model (intake, triage, remediation, validation, closure) and the stewardship operating model (data ownership, definitions, escalation paths, domain coverage)

Own and mature Data Quality Platform: profiling, rule development, monitoring, alerting, and scorecards

Lead RCA to eliminate recurring defects and drive permanent fixes; partner with Data Engineering to embed preventive controls into pipelines

Deliver DQ and stewardship transparency via Power BI scorecards and executive readouts

Coach and grow a high-performing team across DQ and stewardship; develop skills in SQL, Collibra, AI tools, and RCA

Requirements & Skills

10+ years in data quality, stewardship, and/or governance, including 5+ years managing people; demonstrated success managing distributed or offshore teams

Familiarity with modern data governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DGPO, or DCAM

Advanced in SQL for profiling, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and trend analysis

Experienced implementing and operating Collibra Data Quality in production (rules, monitoring, scorecards, workflows)

Hands-on experience applying AI for data quality and stewardship (anomaly detection, auto-classification, stewardship automation); able to build and socialize an AI readiness roadmap including change management for new ways of working

Proven at partnering with business stakeholders to align priorities, drive adoption, and deliver outcomes

Skilled at designing enterprise DQ and stewardship processes, standards, and measurement frameworks

Strong in RCA and capable of coaching a team to execute and prevent recurrence

Proficient in Power BI for stakeholder-ready dashboards and DQ scorecards

Language: fluent in English

Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership skills; proven ability to drive change, build cross-functional relationships, and navigate complex organizational dynamics with adaptability and influence

Commitment to continuous learning; actively stays up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in data, AI, and the broader technology landscape

Nice to Have

Experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud (catalog/glossary/lineage)

Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their associated data services

Familiarity with emerging data architectures such as Data Fabric and Data Mesh

CPG/manufacturing and SAP/ERP ecosystem experience

Prior India-based or offshore team management experience

What we offer you

An ambitious employer; we’re looking for the best for you

A high-impact role at the center of Kraft Heinz’s data and AI transformation agenda

Ownership of a critical, cross-functional program with direct exposure to senior leadership

The opportunity to shape how AI is adopted into data quality and stewardship ways of working
