About The Role

This is your role. What part will you play?

You'll be responsible for end-to-end planning and coordination of subcontracting activities to ensure timely material availability and smooth execution of supplier-based subassemblies. You'll be responsible for planning material flow between the Warehouse, Factory, and Subcontractors in alignment with factory production and assembly requirements. You'll coordinate with Factory Assembly/Production teams to understand subassembly requirements, priorities, and delivery schedules. You'll be responsible for monitoring and coordinating SAP material movements throughout the subcontracting process. You'll be responsible for preparing and maintaining subcontracting plans, supplier-wise material requirements, dispatch schedules, and delivery tracking. You'll coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion and return of subassemblies as per factory production requirements. You'll be responsible for monitoring material inventory at supplier locations and ensuring proper control of material issued for subcontracting. You'll work closely with Warehouse, Production, Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Finance, and Suppliers to resolve material flow and planning issues. You'll be responsible for tracking open quantities, pending material, supplier inventory, subassembly status, and delayed deliveries. You'll proactively identify material shortages, supplier delays, SAP discrepancies, and other constraints impacting production and take necessary corrective actions. You'll ensure alignment between physical material movement and SAP transactions and support timely reconciliation of inventory discrepancies. You'll prepare and maintain planning reports, material trackers, supplier performance reports, and management MIS. You'll work on SAP and other planning/reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely data management.

You are a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (B.E. / B. Tech). You've 5–9 years of experience in Production Planning, Material Planning, Supply Chain, Subcontracting, or Supplier Coordination, preferably in the Switchgear/Electrical Manufacturing industry. You have strong working knowledge of SAP, particularly material movement and subcontracting processes & experience in standard subcontracting PO based working in SAP. You have hands-on understanding of inventory management, material planning, production coordination, and supplier management. You have good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office; knowledge of Power BI or other reporting tools will be an advantage. You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills. You have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To excel in this role, a Subcontracting Lead Planner needs a blend of technical, planning, and interpersonal skills :Technical & Planning Acumen:

Strong understanding of manufacturing and subassembly processes, preferably in the switchgear industry. Good understanding of end-to-end material flow between Warehouse, Factory, and Subcontractors. Strong knowledge of SAP material movements, inventory control, and subcontracting processes. Ability to understand production plans, material requirements, BOMs, and delivery priorities. Ability to identify material shortages, supply constraints, and planning risks and implement corrective actions.

Supply Chain & Operational Skills:

Strong understanding of inventory planning and supplier material control. Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and ensure uninterrupted material availability for production. Strong follow-up and execution skills to ensure timely supplier deliveries. Ability to analyze pending material, supplier stock, open orders, and production requirements.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong coordination skills with internal teams and external suppliers. Proactive approach towards problem-solving and risk management. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong ownership, accountability, and results orientation.
