Plant Head (O&M)- PSP/Hydropower

Work Location: Chitravati, Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh

The Plant Head O&M is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the PSP Hydro facility in Chitravati, Andhra Pradesh (500 MW). This role is pivotal in ensuring optimal power generation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement within the pump storage plant. The position aligns with Adani Group’s mission to drive sustainable energy solutions and supports PSP Hydro’s strategic focus on operational excellence, risk management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key responsibilitiesEnsure reliable, safe, and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems. Achieve generation targets, pumping schedules, and meet SLDC / RLDC instructions.Strategic oversight of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.Responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end O&M contract management, including contractor performance monitoring, compliance, service delivery, budgeting, and risk mitigation.Liaison with SLDC/RLDC, DISCOMs, OEMs, regulatory bodies, and government agencies.Support billing, PPA compliance, DSM management, and settlements.Prepare and manage annual O&M budget, including manpower, spares, and consumables.Lead plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and automation upgrades.Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team: operations, mechanical, electrical, C&I, safety, civil.Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate operational risks and ensure compliance with internal audits.Ensure 100% compliance with CEA, CERC, state hydro regulations, safety rules, and environmental guidelines. Develop and Maintain safety process, HIRA, PTW, LOTO, fire safety, dam safety, and emergency preparedness protocols in line with company process.

Required Qualifications20+ years of experience in operations and maintenance within the hydro power generation sector.Expertise in Operations and Maintenance for Pump storage plant is added advantage.Strong knowledge of EHS standards and compliance requirements.Demonstrated experience in managing electromechanical systems and powerhouse operations.Advanced certifications in operations management or power generation technologies are preferred.In-depth knowledge of pump storage power generation systems and electromechanical operations.Expertise in risk management and compliance audits within the energy sector.Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and operational excellence frameworks.Proven ability to lead large teams and drive operational excellence.Strong stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring alignment of operational goals with business priorities.
