Head of Enterprise Architecture

The Head of Enterprise Architecture will act as the custodian of technology architecture for Adani Group, holding end-to-end accountability for defining, governing and evolving the Group's technology blueprint across its diversified portfolio of independently operating businesses.As custodian of architecture across the Group, the role holds the mandate to ensure that technology investments made independently by each business remain strategically aligned, secure, scalable, interoperable, cost-efficient and designed for reuse. The role chairs the Group Architecture Review Board as the Group's principal governance checkpoint for major technology decisions, and is accountable for the disciplined evaluation of new and emerging technologies before they are adopted at scale.The role will work closely with Group leadership, Business CDOs/CTOs, the Group CISO and Cyber team, and transformation leaders to evolve the organization from application-centric technology landscapes toward a platform-, data- and API-driven enterprise architecture.The role partners closely with the Group's AI Labs, Cloud Engineering and Data organization, aligning their platforms and roadmaps to the wider enterprise architecture, while those functions retain ownership of their respective domains.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the Group's custodian of enterprise architecture: own the Group Enterprise Architecture strategy, principles, standards, reference architectures and the 3–5 year technology roadmap, applied consistently across every Adani Group business.Chair the Group Architecture Review Board (ARB) — the central governance body for enterprise technology decisions:Set the ARB's review criteria, escalation thresholds and decision rights, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards without slowing day-to-day business execution.Maintain the ARB as the final sign-off authority for cross-business platform, cloud, data and cybersecurity architecture decisions.Own the evaluation of new and emerging technologies for the Group:Maintain an Enterprise Technology Radar and a documented evaluation framework (business fit, security, cost, interoperability, vendor viability) to assess candidate technologies.Systematically move promising technologies — spanning cloud, data platforms, cybersecurity, integration, edge and IoT/OT — from evaluation to proof-of-concept, production pilot and Group-wide adoption.Act as the final architectural authority on technology and vendor selection decisions referred to the ARB.Establish and lead a federated architecture model that provides Group-level direction while enabling individual businesses — Ports, Airports, Power, Green Energy, Cement, Gas Distribution and Data Centers — to retain appropriate technology autonomy.Drive standardization and reuse of platforms, APIs, data products, integration patterns, cloud foundations, identity, observability and common technology services across all Group businesses.Establish architecture principles for hybrid cloud, edge computing, high-performance compute infrastructure, IoT and industrial/OT environments, reflecting the Group's asset-intensive businesses.Drive technology economics and rationalization across the Group, reducing duplicated platforms, unnecessary licenses, technical debt and long-term total cost of ownership (TCO).Build and lead a high-calibre central Enterprise Architecture team, and develop a federated architecture community of practice across Adani Group businesses.Key Success MeasuresSuccess will be measured through Group-wide business and technology outcomes, including:Throughput and turnaround time of decisions reviewed by the Architecture Review Board.Proportion of new technologies moved from Technology Radar evaluation through PoC to production and Group-wide scale.Increased reuse and reduced duplication of platforms, data products and technical debt across businesses.Improved interoperability between business-unit systems and Group-level platforms.Lower Group-wide technology TCO and stronger resilience and cybersecurity posture.Consistency of security-by-design outcomes, validated jointly with the CISO/Cyber team, across ARB decisions.Faster, more consistent technology decision-making across independently operating businesses.Candidate Profile15–20 years of technology experience, with significant leadership responsibility in large and complex enterprises; prior experience chairing or participating in an enterprise architecture review board or equivalent technology governance forum is highly desirable.Strong experience across enterprise architecture, technology strategy, cloud and infrastructure, enterprise applications/SAP, data platforms, integration, cybersecurity and emerging technology evaluation. Practical understanding of edge computing and modern platform engineering is highly desirable, along with experience partnering with dedicated Cloud Engineering, Data and AI organizations within a large enterprise.Experience in diversified, infrastructure-intensive conglomerates spanning sectors such as ports and logistics, energy and utilities, airports, cement and building materials, or data centers would be directly relevant to the scope of this role.The candidate must combine deep technical credibility, business and commercial understanding, systems thinking, strong executive communication, and the ability to chair cross-functional governance forums — working closely with Business CDOs/CTOs, the CISO/Cyber team, and specialist AI, Cloud Engineering and Data organizations — to influence technology decisions across independently operating businesses.
